i rode at castlewood today. i was too tired and lazy to make the new years day ranch ride. every year i kick myself for not going. and i did today, hence the drive out to castlewood.
i got out there just before noon, and the thaw had already begun. i picked the trails wisely and didn't hit much at all in the way of mud at first. roller coaster is just a bad idea, fyi, unless there is lots of dry time. of course, most of grotpeter is dandy. lone wolf was P erfect. after i had been there for an hour and a half, it was time to call it a day. everything was getting soft and i warned a few guys just starting out while i was packing up.
i would like to try again on saturday if there is no rain, but it's not looking good.
grrrrr. so starts the battle with the cold and the mud.
