The Face

Hanna and her friends have this thing called "The Face".  You can see pretty much what it is in this photo.  It's a hideously distorted smile.  Pitty Hanna doesn't have her best "Face" going, but her friends do.  It's hard for me to get a photo of her now where she isn't doing it.  So....here you go, Hanna!  Enjoy!  :)

1964 Thunderbird

Spied this 64 Thunderbird in Affton the other night.  Not perfect, but an excellent daily driver.  Such incredibly cool styling.  Long, but very low, and the greenhouse is really classy looking.  I would love to own one.

Dutchtown Kids Race

Eli, hanging with the girls after his big race win at Dutchtown.  He's flashing the horns because he's also a closet rocker.

Photo Bombs

This is the nice photo I had on my phone after I was done racing Sunday.  There were many, many more that I could have posted...goofy faces, mostly.  I don't think she would have liked for me to post the worst of them.  So, here is my big, green-eyed beauty.

Random Photos

Couldn't have tasted that bad, could it?

Mark Donohue AMC Javelin

Driving on Tesson Ferry tonight, I had the pleasure of driving behind this rare relic of the early muscle car days.  It's an AMC Javelin, which is rare enough, but it appears that it might be a little more special.  It could very well be a "Mark Donohue" edition, which was a car sold so that AMC could compete with Ford, GM, and Chrysler in the Trans-Am racing series of the late 60's and early 70's.  If my history is right, this should be a 1970 and it should have had the 290 horsepower 360 V-8, although AMC was well known for fudging details as it struggled to remain in business.  It was a very, very nice example.  I consider myself lucky to have a photo of it.

There are two (count them, TWO!) AMC AMX cars in my neighborhood.  AMX's are shortened Javelin's and are a bit odd looking but cool nonetheless.  Both are in rough shape.  But it's nice to see something different once in a while.

Hanna is growing old, FAST!

Hanna played an old lady in her school play last night.  I laughed so hard when they turned the lights up and I saw her and her bestie standing together in costume.  So awesome.  She had on some really cool stuff from the thrift shop, including some orthopedic shoes.
Still having makeup on, she emerged from the play looking happy and strangely old.  The glasses were icing on the cake.  Bravo!

Weather Pics

Last night as the weather rolled in, I was walking out to my car.  I had to take a couple of photos of the sky.
The odd lighting made it look quite a bit scarier than it was.  Still very cool.

C2 Corvette Convertible

This little gem was parked outside of the store today.  It's a 1963 or 1964, I'm not a vintage Corvette expert but I know a little.
It's in good shape, obviously a daily driver.  It's a convertible, but it has a removable hard top on it.  The small emblem under the "Corvette" script in the rear says "Sting Ray".  I love it.

Action packed weekend

Hanna and Eli, trying to be casual while taking pictures of my butt and sending them to my phone.
Volleyball tournament all day on Sunday.  They played 11 games total.
Tough day, but there were some bright spots.  Hanna's serve has become quite good.

Big ol' dog

After a day of chewing, wrecking, bounding, trashing, and general mayhem, Rex is usually calm at some point before bedtime.  He has yet to reconcile his size with his tendency to be a lap dog.  Here, he is snoring.

Easter Sunday

The big kids did not join us for most of the Easter festivities today, so Eli got almost all of the attention.  Here, the Easter Bunny (Max in disguise) is giving Eli pointers on how to scoop up the most eggs in the hunt.
Eli has lined up here with the other kids his age.  He gathered a lot of eggs and didn't push any kids down doing it.  Good job, kid.
Eli with his bestest girl, Sid.  She appears to have gathered a gaggle of eggs, herself.
Max on the hunt for his eggs at Grandma's house.  It took him a while, as his eggs were hidden by one of the more devious aunts.  He found them, and there was money.
Eli found his eggs rather quickly at Grandma's.  He is showing off his bounty.
It's a big birthday month around here, with Eli turning 7 and Denise hitting the big four/four.  There will be more to celebrate later the month, too.

Lots of Reading Material

My wonderful in-laws know how much I love old cars, so they picked up a few books for my birthday.  Isn't it awesome that I don't get neck ties for my birthday??  Thanks for the thoughtful gifts.

'merica

Apparently, McDonald's will make you a "Monster Mac" if you press them.  I wonder which states have the highest instance of Monster Mac orders?  It's 'merica, so it's wonderful that you have a choice to order such things, but----  WHY?
